I am the principal of BCS and am responsible for the academic side of life at BCS. This involves training teaching staff, organising our curriculum and facilitating external examinations with Cambridge International Examinations. As well as this I am able to do some teaching, working with different age students in a variety of subjects, depending on the need. My wife, six children and I have been at BCS since August 2014 and are hugely blessed to be serving here.
Jens & Conni Auer
In May 2005 we arrived at BCS to be dorm parents in one of the three international dorms. Our children Lucas (born 2000), Tom (2002) and Finn (2005) were still very young back then. We loved living together with 10-15 teenagers, getting to know them and having an input into their lives.
Throughout the years we gained a lot of insight into many different areas of the school, as besides dorm parenting we worked as a teacher, in maintenance, as kitchen caterer and shopper.
Since August 2012 we have been the directors of the school. Liaising between the different departments at school, caring for present and future staff, promoting and nurturing vision, looking after our Senegalese staff, communicating with Mission sending bases around the world are all part of our diverse job. Serving students, staff and missionary families in this new role is a real privilege.
All these years we've enjoyed living in this unique community at BCS. We can confirm what we hear from visitors: "It's a foretaste of heaven: people from many nations living together and worshipping the one true God in unity despite diversity!"
I am the administrator of the school, supporting the Director, Principal and the Finance Manager, and serving all the staff and pupils through my work. This includes dealing with emails (I am the first point of contact at BCS), ordering supplies, paying salaries to the local workers, driving, and many other jobs. I enjoy the variety a lot. I have been working at BCS since January 2013, and my three children love going to school here at BCS. We are thankful to God for calling us to serve Him here, and as a single parent family, we appreciate very much the family atmosphere here.
